How we rank apps
How alternatives are selected
An app is listed as an alternative when it covers the same main use case. Candidates are found from public sources (official websites, open source catalogs, app stores), then reviewed. Editors validate the most visited pages by hand.
How alternatives are ranked
Lists are ordered by community likes, then by how closely an app matches the use case. Nobody can pay to change an app's organic position.
Sponsored listings
Vendors can pay for a placement at the top of relevant pages, or to be shown first in a list where they already appear as a genuine alternative. These placements are always labeled “Sponsored”.
Products made by the publisher
The company that publishes this site also builds some of the tools listed here. They follow the same rules, and when they are promoted they are labeled “By the publisher”.
Data and corrections
Prices and features are collected from official sources and re-checked regularly; each page shows when it was last updated. Spotted a mistake? Use the submission form to let us know.
